Festival Poster artist
Each year, a local artist with ties to the Memphis arts community is selected as our commemorative fine arts poster artist. Derived from original work, the poster design is intended to communicate the vitality of our community and our festival.
Posters are for sale during the festival, available at the Merchandise Booth for $35, as well as before and after the festival at the Art Center Supply and Frame Shop on Union Ave.
2024 FESTIVAL Poster Artist
Carl E. Moore currently lives and works in Memphis, Tennessee as an Artist. He received his BFA and MFA from the Memphis College of Art. He is the recipient of the Emmett O'Ryan Award for Artistic Inspiration and the Tennessee Artist Fellowship award from the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts. He has exhibited in various galleries and museums in and around the Memphis area and around the country. He has curated and organized numerous exhibitions in small galleries, non-profits, alternative and independent spaces, as well as judged local and national exhibitions.
His work explores everyday narratives through color and identity, by comparing ideologies about race and stereotypes to everyday perception of social and environmental culture.
He uses media-based events as the primary theme of his work, by taking situations and reducing them down to their most basic conversation. He also uses color and content to redefine the social connection between people and their environment, by making color part of the compositional statement.
